3 of 4. Crown of Thorns Sea Stars has gained notoriety for appearing in exceptionally large numbers and significantly damaged reefs by eating corals. Some coral reefs in Australia have been devastated by the Crown-of-Thorns. Sea Stars have the ability to regenerate parts of their bodies that have been lost, cut off or bitten off. The spines on the Crown of Thorns Sea Star are venomous.
